With 21 of the most extraordinary dive spots in the world within reach, the smartline Eriyadu is the perfect place to explore the underwater world of the Maldives. Put on your goggles and just 30 m off the island’s shore you will find the reef where you can admire exotic fish. You can also enjoy life over water through a range of water sports offered by the resort. Banana boat, catamaran sailing, jet ski and wind surfing are just examples of how you can spend your days in the sun. All water sport activities incur an additional charge.
The European diving school (recognized by PADI) offers lessons at all levels. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced diver, your private instructor will be delighted to teach or guide you - as long as you are a swimmer and a fish lover. Choose from wreck diving, swimming with the amazing manta rays or simply putting on a mask and snorkelling to discover beautiful coral reefs. The Diving school is open from 08.00 am – 12.00 pm and 01.30 pm – 06.00 pm.
Big Game Fishing
Take the chance to go on an excursion organised by the island resort and the diving school. Small boats take you out to the reefs to watch the wild life (e.g. big game fishing). With some of the best areas for big game fishing you can often expect to catch, tag and release grouper wahoo, jack fish, barracuda and even the occasional huge sailfish. All excursions can be pre-booked or upon arrival and are at an additional charge.
Have you ever done sunset fishing for your dinner? In the cool of the afternoon set sail on a ‘Dhoni’ for some Maldivian line fishing. You might even be lucky and hear some locals singing to help attract the fish. Your captain and crew will take you to the best fishing spots in the Atoll and help you catch your dinner.
Other Water Sports
smartline Eriyadu has a range of other motorized and non-motorized water sports options. Windsurfing and wakeboarding, flat bottom kayaking and catamaran sailing are just some of the choices available to explore the scenery around Eriyadu island.
